LEP plan puts Peel at loggerheads with AGMA

Trafford Centre and Manchester Ship Canal owner Peel Group finds itself at loggerheads with Greater Manchester's 10 local authorities over its bid to create a new Local Enterprise Partnership to support its Atlantic Gateway development scheme.

Peel's bid is in direct opposition to AGMA – the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities – which has submitted its own proposal to the government for an LEP covering just Greater Manchester.

New £21m research centre will create 440 jobs

A consortium formed by Manchester Science Parks and property giant Bruntwood has been chosen as the preferred developer for a £21m scheme to create a bio-medical research centre in the city, creating up to 440 jobs.
